Laser Beam Melting of Polymers

The aim of this project is to achieve an integrative and reproducible time and space resolved process control. Primary the time resolved temperature fields and densification states of the packed bed in the sub-processes as command variables shall be investigated. Hereby the freely configurable laser sintering system shall be expanded with measurement technology as well as functional components, e.g. thermal imaging and a densifying powder application. Based on that, process stabilization and a stabilization of the achievable part properties shall be obtained. In a further step, the gained knowledge and models should lead to an implementation of a control circuit for the single sub processes and the overall process.
